Griffith Aviation has been training pilots for over 40 years! Whether you want to fly for fun or fly for a living we can help make that dream become a reality! Griffith Aviation is an FAA approved Part 141 flight school, which means you can save time and money in earning your certificates! Griffith Aviation is also VA approved. FAA PSI testing is also offered at our location.

Requirements

Be at least 17 years of age

Be able to read, speak, and understand the English language

Obtain at least a current third-class medical certificate.

Log a minimum of 40 hours of flight training time.

Pass a knowledge test

Be found competent to perform satisfactory on the FAA practical test

Pass a practical test with an FAA designee that will include a thorough knowledge evaluation followed by a flight skills evaluation

Private Pilot

The Private Pilot certificate is the first certificate you will earn to become a pilot. If you are interested in flying for pleasure or want to become a professional pilot the Private Pilot certificate is the first step! Becoming a Private Pilot is one of the greatest accomplishments a person can ever have and something you will definitely remember forever!



Requriemnts

Be at least 17 years of age and hold a private pilot certificate

Be able to read, speak, and understand the English language

Obtain at least a current third-class medical certificate

Log a minimum of 35 hours of instrument time

Pass a knowledge test as well as the practical exam

Instrument Rating

Once you have obtained your Private Pilot certificate you are then eligible to add the instrument rating to you certificate. This allows for you to fly when the weather is less than ideal such as in clouds or fog. Earning your instrument rating is one of the best things a pilot can do to help stay sharp and safe with their flying.

Requirements 

Be at least 18 years of age and hold a private pilot certificate

Be able to read, speak, and understand the English language

Obtain at least a current third-class medical certificate

Have logged at least 250 hours

Pass a knowledge test as well as the practical test

Commercial Pilot

Thinking of taking your flying to the next level? Receive your commercial certificate and get paid to fly! Earning your Commercial Pilot certificate opens a whole new world of flying as a pilot. We like to say the best office in the world, is the one in the sky. If you are looking to fly for an airline or as a cooperate pilot the Multi-Engine Add-on rating is also required. After this you will qualify to fly twin engine airplanes such as jets!
